The Head of the Bight Visitors Centre is located on Yalata Aboriginal Land, near the Nullarbor Roadhouse (about four hours drive west of Ceduna). The Centre has a cafe and gift shop, as well as toilets and picnic area. It is the entrance to a series of clifftop boardwalks and viewing platforms overlooking the Southern Ocean.

The spectacular limestone Bunda Cliffs are up to 120 m and are over 200 km in length, stretching all the way to the Western Australia border.

Southern right whales calve in the waters of the Great Australian Bight each winter, and begin their return journey to Antarctica in October. Calves can be seen with their mothers, and sometimes adult whales can be seeing mating from the lookout. Whale sightings are guaranteed between June and September.

The Centre and lookout are open from everyday 8.00 am to 5.00 pm between 1 June and 30 October, and 8.30 am and 4.00 pm from 1 November to 30 May (excluding 25 December and Proclamation Day). Admission fees apply.
