Australian National Maritime Museum

Our home is girt by sea.

Australia is a continent founded and settled by seafarers, from the first peoples to renaissance explorers, convicts, free settlers, post-war immigrants and refugees. The Australian National Maritime Museum captures the spirit of these voyages and the knowledge, skill, adventure and dangers that they entailed.

The Museum fleet includes the replica of HM Bark Endeavour, the RAN’s Daring class destroyer HMAS Vampire and Oberon class submarine HMAS Onslow. Visitors can see onboard and inside each of these historic vessels (tour fees apply).

The permanent exhibitions are complemented by temporary exhibitions, school holiday programs and special events.

The Museum is located on the waterfront at Darling Harbour and is open from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm daily. Admission fees apply.
