Stay Frosty – Antarctic science for kids, reviewed by kids

  • - (AEST)
  • Libraries Tasmania, Hobart Library
91 Murray Street, Hobart TAS 7000, Australia

Join us to launch a collection of 23 scientific articles for school children about Antarctica and the Southern Ocean. The articles are written by scientists and reviewed by young people, published by the journal Frontiers for Young Minds.

The collection aims to link young minds with scientific experts and spark interest in studying Antarctica and the Southern Ocean. So far it has been viewed more than 170,000 times.

The event will bring together Tasmanian school children with people from the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, the Australian Antarctic Program Partnership, Libraries Tasmania, the Children’s University and Mawson’s Huts Foundation.

The Collection is available to read and download, as individual articles and as a full eBook, from the Antarctica and the Southern Ocean homepage, and Libraries Tasmania will make printed eBook copies permanently accessible in libraries throughout Tasmania.
