The Queensland National Science Week Coordinating Committee is offering grants up to $5,000 for activities delivered during or close to National Science Week in 2022.
The purpose of these grants is to increase community engagement with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) based activities for Science Week
Initiatives that build science capability, engagement, and networks in the regions will be highly regarded. Where possible, applicants are encouraged to collaborate with existing local organisations, including STEM Hubs
To be eligible your project should be a science related activity that will be conducted in Queensland during National Science Week, or where appropriate, in the week before or after the Week. These events can be online, in-person or hybrid in style. All in-person event proposals will need to include references to COVID-19 considerations and contingency plans.
Events must meet at least two of the following objectives:
- Inspire young people to pursue an interest or aptitude in STEM
- Extend networks and partnership opportunities
- Encourage community participation and feedback
- Encourage diversity and inclusion in programming
- Share Australian science achievements and knowledge
Applications close at 3:00 pm AEST, Monday 11 April and the results will be announced in mid-May.
